Titus 7/11/14- Donations Needed

Thomasville Animal Control Officer Candace Lewis was called out to a house today where the TPD found a dog in critical condition. The male dog was found barely breathing, laying in feces, and chained in a yard with no shelter in sight. Officer Lewis called us for help and rushed the dog to Davidson Animal Hospital praying he would be alive upon arrival…she has named him Titus.

Officer Lewis arrived at the animal hospital and Titus was miraculously still breathing. Dr. Hedrick and his staff brought out the stretcher and Titus was carried into the hospital where they were already set up to administer life saving care. His pupils were dilated, he was in shock, very underweight and was unresponsive to light, sound or touch. Titus was put on cool fluids, injections, and a water bowl was brought out with a towel to soak to help cool him down.

After working with Titus for awhile he finally started to come around. Dazed and confused Titus looked around trying to figure out where he was. His pupils slowly began to relax and he was even able to get on his feet for a moment. Titus was placed in ICUl on fluids to rest and will be closely monitored. He is very tired and needs some well wishes sent his way.

  17. I own 3 pointers and they are my children. Whoever did this to Titus should be shot. An animal should never be mistreated. This is total abuse and the person should be prosecuted and serve time. They should NEVER be allowed to own an animal again.

  18. Why?! Why?! Why?! Do people do these horrid things to innocents? They starve them, they give them no water or shelter. I'd like to do those things to these people!

  19. Charge them and sentence them to community service to clean kennels and help raise money for the dogs care. Of course, they should never own another animal.
