Abandoned- Leo and Zeus 8/29/14
Thomasville Animal Control Officer Lewis was responding to an animal welfare call on 8/29/14 where she found these two boys abandoned at a residence in Thomasville, NC. They were chained and it was obvious that no-one had been living at the house for quite sometime. Luckily, these sweet boys had made two neighborhood friends who were determined not to let them go hungry, they called them Leo (Pit/Boxer) and Zeus (Shep X). Officer Lewis obtained the right to remove the dogs from the property, called us for help and brought them into Davidson Animal Hospital for care. *We will post all charges as they become available on our FB page*
Leo and Zeus were covered in fleas, defecating worms and Zeus’s ears has open wounds from fly bites. Zeus is estimated to be around 2 yrs old, Leo close to 1 yr old and both of these boys have tested negative for Heartworms (!). They were bathed, vaccinated, given a capstar to kill the fleas and have began their de-worming cycle. They will both be neutered once the internal parasites have been cleared.
